Our Team

Randolph Riley

Principal & Founder

Randy, a lifelong entrepreneur, began his career in the 1980s co-founding a software startup. That company expanded into a global enterprise delivering solutions for the world’s leading plastic manufacturers. 


Specializing in workflow management and business operations, Randy has spent years consulting for distressed companies. His efforts have successfully restructured businesses across industries such as manufacturing, technology, and logistics, improving efficiency and profitability.

 

After his most recent consulting project, Randy identified a new opportunity to leverage his expertise. In 2016, he launched Smart Real Estate Investments, Inc., a company focused on efficiently connecting investors to alternative real estate opportunities.


Drawing on his extensive experience, he ensures every project is treated as an operating business, not just a financial product. 

Principal & Co-Founder

Inspired by his father’s successful real estate prospecting, Paul was always intrigued by the mechanics of real estate transactions and went on to study accounting and economics at UC Berkeley. 


After several years specializing in highly complex real estate audits at Deloitte, Paul founded a CPA firm focused on highly specialized tax planning and real estate accounting services for high-net-worth clients. 


Over the past 30 years, he has notably leveraged his transactional strategy and tax law expertise as a strategic advisor on hundreds of real estate acquisitions and dispositions. 


Paul advises on all of SREI Inc.'s investments and ensures they are structured not only for the asset's economics but also to achieve clients' unique financial and tax objectives. 

Marc Blanchard

Executive Vice President

Marc was recruited by SREI to manage local multifamily assets and provide crucial support for their national investment initiatives.


His specialization in investment management involves acquiring, managing, and disposing of projects with a focus on leveraging technology.


Marc has spearheaded the automation of processes, the integration of artificial intelligence into strategic planning, and the development of a data-driven system to enhance decision-making.


He has overseen $130M in private equity syndications, and his strategic investment blueprint has set new standards for efficiency and innovation at SREI.
